Have you tried to open Facebook in office, school or college, maximum times you won’t able to access the Facebook?
Almost in every workplace or educational institution, Facebook is blocked. Then how to access the Facebook in office?
Nowadays, social networking sites are restricted by the IT admin in working areas as these websites make the employees and students less attentive to their work.
The office admin makes a firewall for Facebook and other popular social networking websites so that the access to those websites are blocked.
You are reading this post because you have at least tried to open Facebook or social networking sites when it is blocked. And, I am damm sure that you have failed.
As it is very hard to guess how system admin blocks Facebook behind a firewall, yet, I want to mention some possible options to unblock Facebook from a network where it is blocked.
Here are Best 5 Possible ways to open Blocked Facebook In Office and School
#1. Access Facebook Account when IP Address is blocked
If you System Admin or computer network administrator blocked the Facebook by using the Windows host file, then you can open Facebook using it’s IP address. Follow the steps to unblock Facebook website using IP address.
In Windows system, Press Win + R key. It opens the Run command box. Put the following command and hit Enter.
ping www. facebook .com -t
This will open a command prompt and it will show the IP address of Facebook
you will see some of the IP address on the cmd box. just copy and past it in the browser and you can use it. If you are not Lucky so much and Cmd is blocked for your user account. In that case, just open this web tool to find the IP address of blocked Facebook
http://www.hcidata.info/host2ip.cgi
Once you get the IP address of the Facebook then you just copy it and paste on the browser URL address and press enter.
#2. Access Facebook Account by Using Short URL
Sometimes Facebook in institutions is blocked by the URL. In such a case, you can use shortened URL to bypass the blocking system. You can use some URL shortening services like goo.gl or bit.ly to access blocked sites.
#3. Access Facebook Account using Proxy Websites when blocked by the administrator
proxy website is widely used and most useful things to open the blocked website. But, mostly all proxy website is almost blocked so its might work with you. So at-least try with these.
Open Facebook through Secured Proxy servers
Using secured-web proxy sites is the easiest and safest way to open Facebook if blocked. It safely allows you to browse any website you want. But, not all the secured proxy would work with Facebook as they are not optimized for it. Among the bunch of the working proxies, I found www.securitales.com as the best.
Using this service, you can open any website from anywhere. Like you can open Twitter from Iran or access Facebook in China. The best side of this website is that it won’t ask you to install any application on your computer. It also supports the Facebook chat, photo uploading etc. It is totally secured for you as it uses the HTTPS protocol. But this service is not totally free. It lets you use their service only for 10 minutes as a free trial. If you are not thinking about the money, you can give it a try as it does not charge too much.
But, if you don’t want to spend your penny just for the Facebook, you can give the following free proxy services a try.
- Facebridge.net
- Facebookoxy.com
- 4Freeproxy.com
- Maverickeyes.com
- ProxyUs.org
- USAproxy.org
- Studylog.org
#4. Check your system host file
The first thing that you need to do for breaking the blocking firewall is double-checking the system host file. The host file can be used to block any website easily. Most of the time it was blocked by the system host file so just check one time
In Windows, you can find the host file at System drive (C:) > Windows > System32 > Drivers > Etc. Open that file using any text editor. It should look like this:
If you see facebook.com is listed at the end, delete that line and save the hosts file.
MAC OS, Go to Applications > Utility > Terminal and type the following command in the terminal window
$sudonano/etc/hosts
This will open your osx hosts file in the same terminal window and you will see something like this:
If you see that facebook.com is listed at the bottom of the host’s file, delete that line completely and save the file (Command + o). Restart your system and you should be able to browse Facebook without any difficulty
#5. Check your system’s task manager for suspicious programs
If none of the above works for you, look into your system task manager for any suspicious process. Terminate the process which does not have any relation to your system. Rarely, the Facebook denies your system if it is infected with malware or virus.
If the network admin is experienced enough, the above methods may not work and you can’t reach to Facebook. Do you have any other idea to open Facebook when it is blocked by the network admin or ISP? Do share with us.
NOTE:- All the above experiments are written based on the test and implementation. Sometimes it may be not work
